Roger Federer Watches Arsenal Play In Champions League; Wins 2014 ATP Fan Favourite Award
Roger Federer reportedly watched Arsenal play against Anderlecht at the Emirates Stadium on Nov. 4. Federer, who is slated to take part at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, had a few hours to spare from his preparations for the said tennis event.
Federer said via ATP's official site that he enjoyed watching the match. He said that it is nice to watch games other than tennis. "It's a beautiful stadium with a great team, and a Champions League football is a big deal," Federer said. "I'm fortunate to be in the city right now as it is happening." Arsenal let slip a 3-0 lead against Anderlecht, which fought back to even the score, ending the game at 3-3 draw. Arsenal has lost the chance to secure a spot in the Champions League's knockout stage.
Federer revealed he once considered to be a football player. However, he decided to stick with tennis and he couldn't be happier with his decision.
Federer, a six-time champion at Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, leads Group B with Andy Murray and newcomers Milos Raonic, and Kei Nishikori. He will face Raonic in his first match on Nov. 10.
