Rowan Atkinson’s Much Talked About Peformance At The 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony [VIDEO]
Rowan Atkinson appeared during the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony in London as the famous character Mr. Bean while he played the keyboard and starred in the "Chariots of Fire" pre-recorded video. The funny British comedian's appearance even caused a big conversation spike in the famous social networking site "Twitter."
Andrew Fitzgerald, manager of the editorial programming, wrote on the official Twitter blog. "The biggest spike in Twitter conversation during the Opening Ceremony? When Rowan Atkinson, aka Mr Bean, appeared in a hilariously memorable homage to the Olympians of Chariots of Fire," Fitzgerald posted.
"Only the world's best athletes get to experience the thrill and privilege of marching in the Parade of Nations at the opening ceremonies. And as they tweeted pictures during every step of their memorable night, they took all of us along with them," he further added.
Meanwhile, Rowan Atkinson's humor was considered subtle but strong at the ceremony as Britain hoped to share some of the characters that the country has to offer. The actor was successful in bringing humor to the moment especially when the crowd heard the theme from the film "Chariots of Fire." Atkinson's character, Mr. Bean, is famous and loved worldwide because he does not talk yet he can make everyone laugh by using facial expressions.
Of course, whenever Mr. Bean is around, there will be chaos and even though there was dozens of people with different languages, they still understood the actor's humor at the 2012 Olympics.
