Royal Baby Preparations Ramp Up As Kate Middleton Is Speculated To Give Birth Today
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s second child has been widely-believed to be arriving sometime on April 25, but now sources say that the baby could be due as early as today, April 23. Super fans have camped out the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, hoping to be the first ones to catch a glimpse of the newest addition to the royal family.
Unconfirmed reports have previously stated that the Duchess was due on April 25; Kate even said back in March that she was “due mid-April, to the end of April,” The Telegraph reported. However, royal sources were keen on pointing out that there has never been an official confirmation of any dates that have been circulating around the media, another source said.
While the 25th still remained as a favorite due date bet among punters, today (Arpil 23) and tomorrow (April 24) come in very close statistics. Others even speculate that it might be a few more days from now, even as far as the 29th, which is also the royal parents’ wedding anniversary. The Duchess of Cambridge is currently staying in the Kensington Palace, which is a short drive from the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, where she is expected to give birth.
Royal Baby Watch 2015 have obviously been ramping up in the last weeks as the Duchess of Cambridge expects to give birth any day now. Super fans of the royal family have gathered and camped just outside Lindo Wing, not wanting to miss the chance to see the little tot’s first unveiling, Mirror stated. Some supporters have been patiently waiting for weeks, bringing their collections of royal memorabilia that ranged from Union Jack flags, buntings, balloons, and banners with words of welcome for the new prince or princess. Some even plan to sleep at the site itself until the baby arrives for real.
Preparations for the baby’s arrival have also went underway as police searched the area, arranged traffic cones, and placed crowd control barriers. Parking restrictions have also been placed around the hospital area until April 30, even if no official due date has been announced yet, IBTimes reported. A new rule also stated that the media will be unable to stand outside Lindo Wing until the Duchess goes into labor, as a precautionary measure to avoid the frenzy that occurred prior to Prince George’s birth in 2013.
Meanwhile, Prince William has also finished the first phase of his in-work air ambulance training with Bond Air Services earlier than expected, and will come to his wife’s aid as soon as he can, according to an official statement from Kensington Palace released yesterday. He will return to his duties after his paternity leave, which is sometime in June 1.
