'The Royals TV Series Episode 8 Spoilers: Prince Liam Becomes Acting King Of England
In this Sunday’s upcoming episode of “The Royals,” there’s some good news and some bad news. The good news is, King Simon is still alive after having been attacked at the end of the last episode. The bad news is, he’s been injured so badly that his son and heir Prince Liam, will have to become the acting King of England way before he’s ready.
In the episode trailer shared by E! Online, the family finds out about the attack on King Simon. Cyrus tells everyone that the King had been stabbed several times and as expected. Everyone is horrified and demanding answers.
Prince Liam is informed that he will be the acting King of England and he tells his mother that he isn’t ready. Queen Helena steps up to the plate and tell her son that no one is ever ready to rule an empire. She will no doubt be around to guide her young son and it remains to be seen if their relationship will improve now that Liam needs his mother’s guidance.
Princess Eleanor is just as distraught to hear about the attack on her father. In the previous episode, she had begged the King to give her brother a chance to prove himself as the future King of England. Now, it seems like Liam will have that chance. Eleanor has always been supportive of her brother. The question is, will she be able to mend her relationship with her mother so that they can both support Liam in this desperate time?
Speaking of desperate, show creator Mark Schwahn spoke about episodes 7,8 and 9 being the core of the show this season. It’s a time where he feels that Cyrus and the Queen have become desperate. The attack on the King has presented an opportunity for them to save the monarchy that King Simon wants to abolish. Now that they are desperate, did Cyrus have anything to do with the attack?
In the previous episode, Cyrus was seen by Ophelia as he was sneaking out of the palace shortly before the King was stabbed outside the gates. Even with the subtle implications of his guilt, It remains to be seen if he really was involved. Find out when “The Royals” returns on Sunday at 10 pm on E.
