Actor Ryan Gosling is has grabbed yet another big project as he has confirmed to star in the much awaited flick “Blade Runner 2.”

The film is a sequel to 1982 hit flick by director Ridley Scott. However, his role in the sequel has been kept under wraps. The production work of this flick is expected to be started in the summer of 2016. Gosling appeared to be gleaming with joy when he announced his upcoming venture.

"Yes, that's true! It's exciting! All of those things," he said before adding, "And if I say anymore there's a chip in me that will explode if I say anything else," E News quoted the 35-year old actor. The speculations surrounding the making of the sequel of this hit flick have been doing the round for years now and finally there is some concrete news on the cast and crew of the film.

Ryan discussed about his other upcoming project “The Nice Guys” where he is working alongside Russell Crowe. Talking about his co-star during an interview with Complex, Ryan said, "Russell Crowe is so funny in the movie, and I can't wait for people to see that. It's a side of himself that he doesn't show very often, and it's hysterical."

The script of the sequel was finalized in August 2014, according to Screen Rant. Producer Ridley Scott gave the insights about the opening scene of the film at the American Film Institute Festival. The website reported that the opening scene of this flick will be similar to the prequel and will involve a lot of action scenes at a factory farm of plowed, dry dirt.

The first edition of this neo-noir science fiction flick was released in 1982 and starred Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. It was the big screen adaptation of the 1968 novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip K. Dick. The film was lauded by the critics and audience alike and went on to win several awards. It eventually turned out to be a science fiction classic.
