It's no secret Samsung is building one of the toughest gadgets to come out this year - the Galaxy Note 3 that reports said will land between August and September this year.

The specs so far attributed to the phablet are nothing short of spectacular: a near-6-inch 1080p phone screen that boasts off the Super AMOLED panel in Full HD flavour, a slimmer profile and likely all the new handset features that Samsung strutted around when it unleashed the Galaxy S3 March this year.

It's almost certain that the Note 3 will be among the early recipients of the latest Android from Google, which could be Jelly Bean 4.3 or even Key Lime Pie. On top of that is a fresh TouchWiz skin build that highlights the warmly accepted Premium Suite.

Of course, the S-Pen stylus is further improved to maintain its hard-earned reputation as one of Samsung's key re-innovations.

Yet what will be the powerhouse behind these superb Note 3 features? Persistent rumours suggest it a mix CPU implementation, meaning the second Samsung flagship will be deployed with different chips depending on market destinations.

Some countries will get the 8-core Exynos Octa 5 while other regions will enjoy the Note 3 being fired up by Qualcomm's equally mean dynamo Snapdragon 800.

Yet a few months into its widely anticipated release date, the Note 3 appears to be getting a new power generator, which according to Gotta Be Mobile is called Exynos 5420, obviously developed by Samsung specialists.

Citing reports from Japanese tech site RBMen, GBM said that the new chip is currently in development and will likely be packed with the Note 3 debut later in the year.

No specifics about the chip architecture were provided but being one of Samsung's new babies and geared for a taxing device like the Note 3, it is safe to assume that Exynos 5420 packs sufficient wallop.

And this chip should be on board once the Galaxy Note 3 is released, which reports said would come via the 2013 IFA event in Berlin on early September.

Or Samsung will do better - advance the release date on late August by staging its exclusive Episode 2 unpacking event with the all the glitz deserving of a big device flagship push.
