Samsung Confirms 13MP Cam Sensor for Galaxy Note 3, Mulls Dual-Core Intel Chip for Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 – Reports
Samsung is reportedly releasing a 13MP camera sensor with the Galaxy Note 3, set for a September 2013 release date, while exploring the possibility using an Intel Atom CPU with the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.
The Note 3, according to Gotta Be Mobile, is likely to come with a main snapper powered by 13MP sensor, dousing cold water on hopes that Samsung will improve on the Galaxy S4's camera prowess and bump the upcoming phablet shooter at 16MP.
The proof of the camera specs came in the form of a photo allegedly produced by a Note 3 prototype, the same report said. Also, an EXDIF data file has hit the net and pointed to a Samsung Galaxy device currently in a testing stage.
The subject handset carries the model number GT-N7200, which purportedly keeps in line with the mode number associated with the Galaxy Note 2, that is GT-N7100.
The leaked information did not touch on other rumoured features of the third-gen Samsung phablet, which experts said will showcase an 8-core Exynos CPU, a 6-inch screen display and a thinner and lighter profile compared to the GS4.
And as part of the phablet and tablet onslaught that Samsung is letting out later this year, the South Korean tech giant is likely to unleash a Tab 3 variant that is powered by Intel's energy-efficient Atom chip architecture.
Citing a data from GLBenchmark, SamMobile indicated on its latest report that the next Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will be powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, marking a move by Samsung to partly stray away from the ARM-based chips found on its gadget products.
Giving life to the Tab 3's 1280 x 800 screen display resolution is a PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU.
Other reported specs of the large-screen tablet from Samsung are the following: 1GB of RAM, a 3MP front cam shooter, a 7000mAh battery and Android's latest build - Jelly Bean 4.2.2.
The 10.1-inch tablet is geared for July release date or a few months before the expected Galaxy Note 3 debut in September.
