The latest Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S2 will begin rolling out in February, according to a new report from the Korean tech firm Samsung.

A Samsung spokesperson confirmed to CNET that the Android Jelly Bean update will release next month in Singapore. The report fails to mention any other region, and, as usual, those with carrier-locked Galaxy S2s will have to wait even longer.

Samsung Korea recently put up a webpage detailing the Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update, but later it disappeared. However, SamMobile was able to grab a screenshot of the post.

SamMobile states that the update will only be available through Samsung's KIES software and will take a whole hour to install. Jelly Bean will also repartition the Galaxy S2's internal memory, decreasing it from 12GB to 11GB.

Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S2 will improve the operating system's fluidity and performance due to Project Butter. It will also introduce a Siri-like voice assistant from Google named Google Now. Samsung is also adding new camera functions and pre-loading the Help, Google+, Play Book, Play Movie, and +Talk apps.

Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy S2 Plus handset just a few days ago, which is an upgraded version of the Galaxy S2 Plus except that it has Android Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

Rumour has it that the Galaxy S2 will receive Premium Suite upgrade via Jelly Bean update in the coming weeks. The update will give the device multi-tasking features and great user interface.

The Android's Jelly Bean update will introduce Samsung Galaxy S2 to the world of Jelly Bean with some modified extra features courtesy of Samsung. Project Butter will improve system performance by allocating processing power more efficiently and increasing the frame rate of the interface.

The Jelly Bean update will also give the Galaxy S2 Google Now. A voice assistant many consider to be superior to Apple's Siri, Google Now can tell you how long your morning commute will be and what the weather is.

If you cannot wait for the Over-The-Air or Kies update, you can download the Android 4.1.2 ROMs for the smartphone. However, you may want to think twice before doing it as you do not want to risk the warranty of your device.
