Samsung Fixes Samsung Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Issues And Problems
Samsung is already working to fix the battery draining issues and 'force close' app errors in Samsung Galaxy S3 when users install the 4.3 Jelly Bean OS update. The solution for the issues will be released anytime soon as the 4.3 Jelly Bean is already rolling out.
Unlocked and unbranded Samsung Galaxy S3 in the UK received the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS update with XXUGMJ9 firmware version. The main features that will come with the Jelly Bean update are support for Galaxy GEAR, TRIM technology, ANT+ and updates for important UI elements that are already present in Galaxy S4.
Other features included in the update are new Samsung keyboard, updated GPU drivers, new lockscreen with widgets and customizable clock size, Adapt Display and Professional Photo screen modes, Daydream, actionable notifications, Driving Mode, move-to-sd-card feature, sound and shot new camera modes, voice controls, new Samsung applications like clock, calculator, contacts, music, gallery, new S-Voice taken from Galaxy S4 and revamped Settings user interface.
Many users complained about various issues experienced after updating the device to the latest Jelly Bean OS. Some of the issues are fast depleting battery life and the handset becomes unresponsive. Other problems include a patchy WiFi connection or the handset locking up completely needing the battery to be pulled to restart the device.
The update will be available to the Galaxy S3 via Over-the-Air update and it is highly recommended to use a WiFi connection in order to download it. Alternatively, you can use the Samsung KIES software to check for new updates, simply connect your Galaxy S3 to your computer and then launch the app. To check manually the update, select the Settings option on the device before scrolling down to About device > Software update > and then Check for updates.
Meanwhile, Google already rolled out the Android 4.4 KitKat OS for Nexus 4, 7 and 10. It will be followed soon by updates for Google Play Edition smartphones.
Previous report from GottaBeMobile, the Android 4.4 KitKat OS update is now on the testing phase and will be released in the near future. SamMobile tipped off that the company is already testing out the OS upgrade. However, Samsung has not confirmed anything yet. It is speculated that Samsung Galaxy S4, S3 and Note 2 will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat OS update. The smartphones may receive the Android 4.4 KitKat OS update next year after the announcement of Samsung Galaxy S5. It is speculated that the rumored Samsung Galaxy S5 will be the first smartphone to pack the new KitKat OS aside from the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google edition.
