When Samsung was criticized for offering flagship smartphones with polycarbonate construction, it took to launching the Galaxy A series handsets like the A3, A5, A7 and A8 with metal-clad chassis at various price points. Fresh rumours suggest Samsung is working on releasing second-generation editions of these handsets.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016)

The Galaxy A3 (2016) has received certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to Times News UK. Exact details of the device’s entire specs are unavailable, however. The phone will have two versions: SM-A310F/DS (Dual SIM) and SM-A310F.

Buzz suggests it will feature a 4.7-inch HD resolution display. It will be powered by a 1.3 GHz Exynos 7850 chip and 1.5 GB of RAM. Other specs include 16 GB native storage; a 13 MP rear camera; a 5 MP front-facing camera and a massive battery of 2,900 mAh capacity.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

The Galaxy A5 (2016) has also been certified by the FCC alongside the Galaxy A3 (2016). A leaked photo of the Galaxy A5 (2016) reveals that compared to the original model, the sensors on the successor handset have been rearranged. It’s expected to feature a fingerprint sensor, Sam Mobile reported.

The handset is expected to arrive with a 5.2-inch full HD display. An Exynos 7 series chip will power-up the phone at 1.6 GHz along with 2 GB of RAM. The phone will carry a native storage of 16 GB. On its rear, it will house a 12 MP camera and the front will be loaded with 4.7 MP camera.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016)

The Galaxy A7 (2016) is expected to be available in CPU variants of Snapdragon 615 and Exynos 7580 chipset said G for Games. Both chipsets will be supported by 3 GB of RAM. The device will likely feature a 5.2-inch full HD screen.

Its internal storage is expected to be 16 GB. It’s expected to feature 13 MP camera and front-facing camera of 5 MP.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016)

Another report from Times News UK revealed the purported specs of Galaxy A8 (2016). It will probably house a 5.7-inch full HD display. It will be powered by a 1.8 GHz Exynos 7420 chipset and 2 GB of RAM.

It will be packed with a native storage of 32 GB. The rear will house a 16 MP shooter and it will be equipped with a large-sized battery of 3,050 mAh capacity. The original Galaxy A8 sported a thickness of 5.9 mm. Rumours suggest the Galaxy A8 (2016) will have a slimmer profile of 5.68 mm.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016)

The newest entrant to the Galaxy A series family is the Galaxy A9 (2016). Phone Arena has reported the alleged handset will sport a 5.5-inch full HD display; pack a Snapdragon 620 chipset and have 3 GB of RAM.

The rear camera will carry support for 4K resolution videos. The LTE chip will deliver up to 300 Mbps of download speeds.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) are expected to release in January (2016).

Since the original Galaxy A8 handset was released in August this year, there’s no information available on the purported release date of its successor model. The Galaxy A9 (2016) is pegged to see the light of day as early as next month.
