Samsung will not be stepping down to Apple as its Galaxy Note 4 continues to draw positive response. This does not mean the Korean tech giant will settle for the Note 4. It will also reportedly release a Samsung Galaxy A5 device. Which is the better option?

The Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy Note 4 target different markets but for those who will consider getting only a Samsung device then understanding the specs is important. Some users can do away with the premium features of the Note 4 while others may not be satisfied with basic functions of the A5. It comes down to preferences and intended use. The following sections offer a rundown of each device.

Galaxy Note 4

The Galaxy Note 4 represents Samsung's premium line as it has been pitted against Apple's iPhone 6 Plus. This is not just because of the rivalry between the two companies but also because Note 4 has its edges against its premium competitors according to analysts.

Trusted Reviews considers the Galaxy Note 4 as a beast. For those looking for all premium features in terms of display, processor and performance, this can be a good choice. The device follows the 5.7-inch form factor of the Note 3 but instead it comes with an impressive 1080p, Full HD display QHD panel offering 2560 x 1440.

The Note 4 packs on power with 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GRAM and 32GB storage. It also comes with microSD expansion. The processor packs on so much power Samsung included a 3200mAh Lithium-Ion battery offering up to a full day charge. To top it off, it can charge quickly with the battery achieving 50 percent in as little as 30 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy A5

The Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4 have not stopped Samsung from coming up with another line. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy A5 comes with a material that "feels cold in the hand" which may suggest a new component in the device. Nonetheless, it targets the mid-range market without failing the specs. According to Tech Radar, specs of the device include: 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 400 processor, 13MP camera, 16GB storage and 2,330-mAh battery. It will reportedly feature the same TouchWiz interface on the Note 4.

Galaxy Note will be available for around £550-600. As for US carriers, Sprint will offer the device at $825.99 without contract whereas Verizon will offer at $699.99. Amazon will ship the Note 4 with a $899.99 price tag. Pricing plans can vary depending on the services. There are still no details about the price of the Galaxy A5. It should be less than the Note 4 if Samsung will push for the reported target. The Galaxy A5 may be a good alternative once released to those who do not wish to spend as much but get the same UI experience as with the Note 4. Otherwise, spending on the Note 4 offers the latest premium features from the company.
