Samsung Galaxy C9 release date, news & update: Device may be released in October-November; Currently undergoing testing in India
Indian import and export data website Zauba recently revealed some interesting specs of Samsung Galaxy C9. It showed Samsung is currently developing a 6-inch display smartphone. Internally known as “Amy,” the Samsung Galaxy C9 is tied to the model number SM-C9000.
It is worth noting here that Samsung is gradually increasing the display size of its C series phones. Galaxy C5 had a display of 5.2 inches, Galaxy C7 5.7 inches and now the Galaxy C9 is said to be 6 inches in screen size.
As per The Bitbag, generally original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) send their upcoming devices to India for testing as most development and testing centres are situated there. Sending devices for testing also means that the devices would be released soon. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy C9 may soon be announced once it completes testing in India.
Two units of the Samsung Galaxy C9 have been shipped to India for testing and they are currently under evaluation. The devices were shipped on Sept. 19. While the units carry a price tag of US$255 (AU$336) approximately, the actual price of the device when released may be higher than the listed price.
Experts are hoping that the handsets soon receive reach certification sites such as FCC or TENAA so that the key configurations are revealed. As per Tech Times, the Samsung Galaxy C9 may be expected in October or November.
The smartphone does not fall under the category of premium phones. Therefore, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset cannot be expected to be included in the Galaxy C9. However, it may surpass the C7 in terms of single and multi-core performance. A 4GB RAM and 32GB Internal storage are also expected.
The Galaxy C7 has a 16MP camera and thus fans can expect something similar or better with the Samsung Galaxy C9. It is also expected to pack some surprises when it finally launches.
