Dual-Sim handsets are a huge rage for couple of years now. When Samsung launched the Galaxy Core in June 2013 it became an instant hit, but now Samsung is planning on releasing Samsung Galaxy Core Advance. This handset is expected to be on release in April.

Display, Thickness & Weight

The primary change between Samsung Galaxy Core and Samsung Galaxy Core Advance is the screen size. The Galaxy Core has a 4.3 inches display, while Galaxy Core Advance has a slightly bigger screen of 4.7 inches, with both the handsets sporting the same display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

The Galaxy Core weighs 124 g, while the Galaxy Core Advance weighs 145 g. The Galaxy Core has a thickness of 0.35 inches whereas the Galaxy Core Advance has a thickness of 0.38 inches.

Hardware & Software

The Galaxy Core is powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A5, Snapdragon MSM8225 S4 Play chipset which houses a 1 GB RAM, whereas Galaxy Core Advance is powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz processor & it houses the same 1 GB RAM.

The Galaxy Core runs on Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), while Galaxy Core Advance runs on Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean).

Memory

Both Galaxy Core and Galaxy Core Advance have a built-in storage of 8 GB with microSD card support which is expandable up to 64 GB.

Camera

There is no difference in the specifications of Camera either. Both Galaxy Core and Galaxy Core Advance sport 5 MP primary camera with autofocus & LED flash; while the secondary camera in both the handsets is the same VGA unit (0.3 MP).

In addition, Galaxy Core has a face and smile detection capability, while Galaxy Core Advance does not seem to sport this feature.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Core houses a Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery, which translates to 14 hours of talk time in the 2G mode and 9 hours of talk time in the 3G mode. The drastic reduction of talk-time in 3G mode is unmissable.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance packs a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery.

Both the Galaxy Core and Core Advance come in white and blue shades.

SIM

The Galaxy Core has an optional Dual-Sim mode available while Galaxy Core Advance does not support Dual-Sim.

Connectivity

Both Galaxy Core and Core Advance support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and microUSB v2.0.

While Galaxy Core supports Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, Galaxy Core Advance supports Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP. There is no NFC support in the older Galaxy Core but the newer Core Advance will support NFC.
