Samsung Galaxy Gear Vs SmartWatch 2: Which Is A Better Wearable Gadget?
The brand new Sony Smartwatch 2 has been in the market since June 2013 via the Mobile Asia Expo held in Shanghai.
And with the entry of Samsung Galaxy Gear at Berlin's IFA, many are considering which wearable gadget is the better buy.
Let's take a look at the specs of each modern watch of today:
Note that the Samsung Galaxy Gear also has additional features, among them an accelerometer and gyroscope to aid in workout sessions as users wear it.
With the many benefits that the Samsung Galaxy Gear can offer, it is way more worthwhile to buy even if it's priced higher than the Smartwatch 2. Not to mention that numerous Android apps are compatible with the watch.
On the other hand, the Smartwatch 2 comes with NFC, allowing users to easily bond the unit with any Android device. Another edge is its longer battery life.
Also, the Sony watch offers better screen resolution and it is water resistant to depths of three feets. Users can wear the SmartWatch 2 and linger on the water for up to 30 minutes at the maximum.
It is understood too that Sony is planning to bring in considerable number of third party apps to the whole watch package, which should boost its chances of keeping up with its competitor.
In terms of features, the runaway winner is the Samsung Galaxy Gear. But Smartwatch 2 is not without a saving grace - Sony dispatches it with longer battery life, which should make up for its limited capabilities, relative to its Galaxy rival.
So if you want the better wearable tech gadget, it is the Galaxy Gear that offers the better definition of what really a smartwatch is.
