The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime which was first spotted in Vietnam nearly a month ago has been officially launched. The model number of the device is SM-G530H.

According to PhoneArena, the Grand Prime series of smartphones from Samsung comes with a powerful front-facing cameras that are capable of snapping high quality selfies. The Galaxy Grand Prime has been launched in India with a price tag of 15250 which equates to $246 and soon it will be rolled out to many other countries in due course of time.

Since the front-facing camera is the major feature of the Grand Prime, it is housed with a good 5 MP front-facing camera that can shoot wide angle photos. The handset has been designed to snap perfect group selfies.

The rear side of the Grand Prime features an 8 MP camera that comes with an LED flash. It supports full HD video shooting.

The Galaxy Grand Prime does not come with high-end specs and going by the specs of the device, it seems that the device will slot itself as a midrange category that will take on the likes of Moto G 2014 which comes with similar specs.

The Grand Prime measures 144.8 x 72 and its thickness is only 8.6 mm. It weighs 156 g. The handset will be available in colours like black and white. It is a dual-SIM smartphone with dual-standby feature.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime comes with a 5-inch display screen that offers a display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core Cortex A7 processor that delivers a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz. It also houses a 1 GB RAM.

The internal storage of the Grand Prime is 8 GB. The external expansion slot can support up to 64 GB of microSD. It offers numerous connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, v4.0 Bluetooth, aGPS and GLONASS. It does not support 4G LTE connectivity.

The handset will come preloaded with Android v4.4.4 KitKat. It is equipped with a removable battery of 2600 mAh capacity. However, the details on talktime and standby times have not been officially announced by the South Korean tech giant.
