Good news for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 owners as devices received the amazing features included in Samsung's Premium Suite through the Androidv4.1 Jelly Bean update.

The update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean brings a number of improvements to Google's OS including Google Now, and enhanced notifications. The update also brings Project Butter, which helps Android run more smoothly than previous versions.

Other Jelly Bean improvements include offline dictation and resizable widgets, although Samsung widgets are already resizable on both tablets.

With the Jelly Bean update, the Galaxy Note 10.1 can now resize windows of apps when running more than one at once. The feature also lets users overlap windows for a more desktop-like experience. Previously running two apps at once meant splitting the screen evenly between the two.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 also has some new S Pen features from the Galaxy Note 2, such as Air View, which lets users view preview content by hovering the S Pen over it. For example, Air View can show a preview of scenes in a video while scrubbing, or show an email without opening it.

The upgrade is available currently available either as an over-the-air (OTA) download or via Kies. In Kies, the users need to connect their devices to the computer while they will have to go to Settings, select "About Device" and then select "Software Update" to snag the OTA update. If the firmware update is available, the download will start automatically.

If no notification was received, you can follow the procedures below to update your devices manually. Before you proceed you may want to back up all of your data to avoid losses in case anything goes wrong. Make sure that your smartphone has a fully-charged battery.

Follow the step-by-step procedure of installing the latest Jelly Bean update enumerated below.

Step 1: Download Android 4.1.2 N8013UEUCMA3 for Galaxy Note 10.1 N8013 and extract the file.

Step 2: Download Odin 3.07 and extract the file.

Step 4: Run ODIN 3.07.exe as an Administrator.

Step 5: Connect Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 to your computer via the USB while it is on the Download Mode. If the device is connected properly, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number.

Step 6: Select the following files in the Odin at relevant tabs from extracted N8013UEUCMA3 firmware folder:

  • Click on PDA and select file with CODE in its name.
  • Click on Phone and select file with MODEM in its name. (Ignore this step if there is no such file)
  • Click on CSC and select file with CSC in its name. (Ignore this step if there is no such file)
  • Click on PIT and select the .pit file. Use this file only if you get it while extracting the zip file mentioned in step 1 or else just ignore it.

Step 7: In the Odin window, make sure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. In addition, if you are using a .pit file, ensure that Re-Partition checkbox is selected. Otherwise, it should NOT be ticked.

Step 8: Click on the START button to initiate the flashing process.

Step 9: After flashing is done, you will see a PASS message with a green background in the leftmost box at the top of the Odin.
