"Today we are excited to reveal the fruit of this collaborative co-engineering, the ThinkPad Tablet 2, a joint effort between Lenovo, Microsoft and Intel," vice president and general manager of ThinkPad Business Unit Dilip Bhatia said in a press release.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, on the other hand, finally arrived in Germany and United Arab Emirates last Monday and is expected to be released worldwide in the coming weeks. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is powered by Google's Android software although reports did not specify whether it is the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich.
Is it better than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1?Below is a comparison of the two devices.

Both devices will sport a 10.1 inch screen display. However, the two tablets will have a difference when it comes to pixel resolution. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will have 1280×800 PLS 150 ppi display; while Lenovo's ThinkPad Tablet 2 will have 1,366 x 768 IPS display.

A key ingredient in mobile device success is the ability to connect to the Web when away from a WiFi connection. Luckily, the Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with both WiFi and 3G connectivity, allowing users to surf the Internet wherever they want.
Furthermore, Samsung is promising that it will release a 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 later this year. It's not immediately clear when that device will launch, but when it does, it'll be worth acquiring.
Unfortunately, Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 will support AT&T LTE network.
Release Date
Reports said that Samsung started selling Galaxy Note 10.1 in Germany and UAE. Worldwide release of Samsung's tablet is expected next week on August 15. Lenovo announced that the Windows 8 tablet will be available on in October.
