Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4.3 Jelly Bean Update New Firmware Leaked; Official Roll Out Dates Still Unconfirmed
The official Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4.3 Jelly Bean update is coming very soon as another firmware leaked courtesy of SamMobile. However, the roll out dates for the official version is still not confirmed.
If you are already tired of waiting for the update, you may want to download and install the latest ROM leaked. According to SamMobile, the latest build is very close to the final version. Thus, users may encounter almost no problem installing the firmware.
The latest update brings several changes to the Galaxy Note II UI. The handset will now resemble the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3, which already received the Android 4.3 treatment. Samsung Knox and Samsung Wallet are debuting on the Note II as part of the Android 4.3 update. Below are the new features in the changelog:
- OpenGL 3.0 Support
- ANT+ Support
- Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated application)
- Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded
- Improved RAM management
- Improved Display colour reproduction (Display looks much sharper than before)

- New Reading Mode (Optimises display for reading, used by only a few specific applications)
- New Camera firmware
- Minor UI tweaks (Contacts app, Flashlight Widget, dialog boxes etc)
Here is the step-by-step procedure to install the latest unofficial 4.3 Jelly Bean update on Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Step 1: Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Step 2: Download Odin3 v3.09 (From here or here)
Step 3: Extract Odin .ZIP file
Step 4: Open Odin3 v3.09
Step 5: Restart phone in download mode (Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons)
Step 6: Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Step 7: Add AP_N7100XXUEMK4_2099172_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to AP
Step 8: Add BL_N7100XXUEMK4_2099172_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to BL
Step 9: Add CP_N7100DDEMJ9_REV08_CL1423182.tar.md5 to CP
Step 10: Add CSC_ODD_N7100ODDEMK1_2099172_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to CSC
Step 11: Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Step 12: Click start button, sit back and wait a few minutes for the update.
If you encounter any issues with the firmware, boot into recovery mode (Home + power + volume up). Choose to wipe/factory reset. This will delete all of the date including in the user's SD card. Then choose reboot.
