Samsung has been making headlines especially with its reported 12.2-inch tablet. According to the latest information and leak, Samsung plans to release a 12.2-inch Galaxy Note Pro. Instead of focusing on just smartphones, the Korean tech giant has shifted its attention to slates. It appears 2014 will be filled with Samsung tablets. What can people expect?

As mentioned, a number of reports are hinting Samsung's shift from smartphones to tablets in 2014. According to latest information, the company wants to dominate the tablet market in the same way it penetrated the smartphone industry.

To begin its bid, Samsung is reportedly working on a 12.2-inch tablet. The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will be the largest of the line to date. Similar to newer tablets, the Galaxy Note Pro will also ship with the well praised S Pen stylus.

Samsung is not the only one planning to release a large tablet in 2014. Its biggest rival, Apple, has also been making headlines about a 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Samsung has not made any official announcements about the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro, so people will have to wait for final details of the specs and the release date.

So far, a lead from SamMobile shows a leaked image of the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. However, people will have to settle for a rear view. There are no images yet showing the tablet's display. From the image, it seems Samsung is set on releasing a tablet bigger than the rest of its current offerings. It also appears the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will be thicker compared to the Galaxy Note 10.1.

SamMobile provided an update following the leak saying they have an insider confirming the existence of the new tablet.

The device will reportedly sport similar features as the Galaxy Note 10.1. The 12.2-inch tablet is expected to come with a 12.2-inch LCD display, 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and Android 4.4 KitKat. If Google will release a new OS, then the platform may change. But, so far, Android 4.4 KitKat will likely turn up. Other reported features include Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX, 2.3 GHz quad-core processor and 3 GB of RAM. The processor and RAM combination promises smooth operations.

The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will also include three storage configurations (16, 32 and 64 GB), two Wi-Fi variants (Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE model) and a microSD expansion slot up to 64 GB. Reports are expecting Samsung to announce more of its product during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.
