Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs. HTC J Butterfly: Which Phablet Should you Choose?
Taiwan-based mobile manufacturer HTC spotted a great opportunity in the phablet market due to the success of the Samsung Galaxy Note. Thus, it unveiled HTC J Butterfly which is rumored to be making its way to Verizon.
However, the new HTC J Butterfly is only available in Japan but we have all been hearing about the HTC One X5 or HTC Incredible X for some time now. So, we should expect to see it everywhere. It may not have the same name but it is definitely coming.
The new HTC device is expected to battle head one with other phablets in the market, especially the powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The device was introduced last August 29 as a successor of the phablet Galaxy Note.
The device boasts some of its amazing features such as a huge screen display, 4G/LTE connectivity, new operating system, NFC support, S-pen, etc.
Below are the comparison of the specs and features of the two devices.
Screen Display - The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a stunning 5.5" Super AMOLED screen. The HTC J Butterfly has a 5 inch Super LCD3 with 440ppi full HD display. The battle is in terms of size and quality. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may be larger but HTC J Butterfly's screen display has better quality.
Processor - Samsung Galaxy Note packed the Exynos 4412 Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 processor while the HTC J Butterfly with the new Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad core processor. Both processors are insanely fast. Both devices have 2GB of RAM.
Operating System - Both devices run with Android's latest mobile software Jelly Bean.
Storage - Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. The Galaxy Note 2 comes with microSD slot up to 64GB. HTC J Butterfly has 16GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot.
NFC - Both smartphones are capable of near field communication.
4G/LTE Connectivity - Both are capable to connect to the fastest connection or 4G connection.
Camera - Both devices are equipped with 8MP rear cameras.
Battery - The 3100mAh battery in the Note 2 is so much of a better option over the 2020mAh in the HTC J Butterfly.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be available this month. HTC J Butterfly is speculated to also arrive later this year just in time for the holidays.
