Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to Face Its New Rival HTC T6?
It seems that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have a strong competitor this year from Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC.
HTC is reported to be preparing a phablet codenamed HTC T6, which is also rumoured to come with a stylus.
Reports claimed that just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC phablet will boast a 5.9-inch full HD display (most likely a Super LCD3 unit), while being underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. The list of technical specifications also includes 2 GB of RAM and, of course, the 4 megapixel UltraPixel camera sensor borrowed from the HTC One, all together with BoomSound speakers.
It seems though that the internal flash storage will be limited to 16 GB, but opposed to the HTC one the smartphone will come with a microSD card slot that will allow an expansion of 64 GB. The front-facing camera will have a 2.1 megapixel sensor, while the battery of the Galaxy Note 3 rival will be a 3,300 mAh unit.
There is no doubt that the HTC phablet will pack the company's proprietary Sense interface, therefore we should expect features like BinkFeed, Zoe, and Beats Audion enhancement. Sources say that HTC will also launch a wide range of accessories for its Galaxy Note 3 rival, which will include fingerprint scanner or a cover that integrates an extra battery.
The HTC T6 will have an alleged release date set for early fall and will run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie out of the box. Anyway, I am advising you to take the rumour with a pinch of salt, as, in my opinion, the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will not see the light of day sooner than October, when Google will celebrate Android's 5th birthday.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, may come earlier than expected, according to recent release date rumours.
Tech blog DigiTimes reported that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date has been set for July - August time frame, as the South Korea-based company seeks to bite a big chunk of Apple's market share by countering the rumoured iPhone 6 and/or iPhone 5S launch with a powerful high-end smartphone.
It is initially reported that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to make its debut in the third quarter of this year. Rumours point to possible September release date. There are speculations that Samsung will hold the announcement of the Note 3 on the annual IFA event in Berlin.
However, a new report from Digitimes suggests that Samsung might be planning to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as soon as July or August, August of course being the same month that Samsung launched last year's Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Reports suggest that the next generation Galaxy Note will come with major improvements in not just the display quality that is certainly going to be a full HD display, processor is also going to improve and so the camera. It is also expected to get many of the new features that came with Samsung's latest flagship handset Galaxy S4.
Reports also suggest that the S-Pen is going to get another facelift with the launch of the new Galaxy Note that is being dubbed as Galaxy note 3.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumoured to receive a major overhaul and will feature amazing specs such as a metal chassis for body, eight core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 13 MP camera with dual functionality, and massive screen display.
However, the spokesperson of the South Korea tech company said that Samsung does not comment on the rumours surrounding its devices.
