The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be released in either January or February, according to rumours.

Since Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is still selling like hotcakes, we can expect that it will have a successor that will be released sometime next year. Two of the biggest events in tech market happen in January and February - CES and MWC events, respectively.

It is speculated the new Galaxy Note will sport an even larger screen using OLED technology. The company has invested a lot of time and money in to the production of the new OLED displays and has begun to scale down the teams that work on the production of the traditional LCD panels and concentrate efforts on the newer OLED technology.

Initial rumors claimed that Samsung galaxy Note 3's screen will be either use a Full HD or a Super AMOLED technology.

A rumor online is suggesting that the device will feature a larger 6.3-inch HD display or nearly an inch larger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which features a massive 5.5-inch HD display.

Another report posted by the Korea Times, Samsung Mobile in Korea is developing a new Samsung Galaxy Note and it will reportedly feature a massive 6.3-inch display that will use the AMOLED technology of the Korean tech giant.

Early this month, the official OTA update of the 4.1.2 version of the Jelly Bean OS has started to roll out for the international or unlocked version of the device. The upgrade for carrier-branded handsets is expected to roll out between December and January.

According to SamMobile, the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note 2 is now rolling out in Poland and Sweden. The international Galaxy Note 2 possesses a model number of GT-N7100 while the Galaxy Note 2 LTE features GT-N7105. Both updates are currently limited to these areas though we suspect that more regions will see the update in the near future.

The update brings slight changes and additions to the device as the Notifications in that the panel is now customizable allowing owners to tailor it to their liking. It also offers a way to toggle some features on and off through the menu including the device's powerful Multi Window View feature. Users can also disable the brightness slider from within the Notification Menu as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and Android Jelly Bean 4.1 mobile operating system with Samsung's new custom user interface that takes advantage of the device's S-Pen. The Galaxy Note 2 also offers an 8-megapixel primary camera, a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera and a large battery capable of delivering more than 9 hours of continuous voice call.

The unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 2 costs $899. However, Australian carriers offer affordable plans for the device.
