Release dates of various devices have been elusive at best and unpredictable at worst, and the iPhone 5S, iPhone Mini, and iPhone 6 are the ones leading the hit-and-miss predictions. This time, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is also joining the wagon, with the latest reports pinning down another release date.

Now, it seems that three devices will be up for grabs as early as September, alongside the reported iPhone 5S and iPhone Mini, the latter touted as Apple's budget iPhone.

According to TechRadar the date was pegged to the IFA 2013, where the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may be a go-show, but other reports even push up the date as early as July. Considering the early reveal of the Samsung Galaxy S4 this year, the company may be aiming for another surprise this time around.

However, until now, there are still no confirmed specs for any of the three rumored devices to be outed this summer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 gets improved processor & camera

When it comes to optical image stabilization and improved smartphone camera features, the name that really rings a bell is Nokia. But Samsung seems to want to share the limelight, as rumors of optical image stabilization on the Galaxy Note 3 pop up.

Know Your Mobile reports that OIS may be replacing the previously planned 3x optical zoom in order to keep a thinner physical make to the device.

The camera technology rumors don't stop there, as Gotta Be Mobile adds that an improved camera by way of a 13-megapixel rear camera will be included in the Galaxy Note 3 array of features.

If this proves to be true, it will be a huge upgrade from the 8-megapixel seen on the Galaxy Note and Note 2, and may well put the Note 3 to the standards of the Galaxy S4.

Not all of the rumored features are improvements, as reports of a step down from 8-core to quad-core for the processor has also been seen for the Note 3.

According to PC Advisor, the then-planned Exynos 5 octa-core processor may be dropped in lieu of using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, a report that was also reflected by ZDnet Korea.

This would be a miss for Samsung, as the Exynos processor would have allowed it to claim the title of being the first phablet device to actually sport an 8-core processor.

HTC One's T6 a potential threat?

For Verizon subscribers, it seems that HTC One phablet, codenamed T6, may be Samsung Galaxy Note 3's biggest competition to date.

TechThirsty reports that, since Verizon is not offering the flagship One device, it may be that the phablet version will come to Verizon instead. It may even feature the same aluminum unibody and the same specs, differing mostly in the size of the screen.
