Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Update: Phablet to Feature New Form Factor?
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date has been speculated to be in its usual launch in September. But the phablet is set to sport a new form factor.
As Samsung Galaxy Note 4's release date nears, rumors are getting hotter each day. Although Samsung Galaxy S5 was a complete success in terms of reported sales and figures, Samsung seemed to have planned something bigger for its smartphone-tablet hybrid.
G for Games cited Yoon Han-kil, senior vice president Samsung's product strategy team, who confirmed Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is on its way, adding the device will boast of a "new form factor."
The design seeks to attract more consumers as there are an increasing number of Chinese manufacturers crowding the smartphone market and their devices are gaining more attention, especially in the emerging markets and in western markets.
"The slowing high-end market is indeed a concern for most manufacturers," Yoon said. He added Samsung is planning on bringing some changes to its line-up, while focusing on new segments such as wearables.
The senior VP has not revealed the juicy details as to how the upcoming Samsung Galaxy note 4 will be different from its predecessors. But speculations arise that the phablet will pack a flexible screen and curved design. It is also possible that consumers may see a new premium model.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was also rumored to pack the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. While there is also the possibility that another variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be powered by the octa-core Exynos processor from Samsung.
Also, Samsung's phablet is rumored to sport an either 2K or 4K flexible display that is apt for the device's humungus screen.
Trusted Reviews said the next-gen phablet will be launched at the IFA tech event set on Sept. 4-20. For the past two years, the IFA trade show has been the launching platform of Samsung Galaxy Note series.
