Apple and Samsung have competed constantly. Following the legal and patent dispute, the two companies have also been battling for the bigger market share. While Samsung already released its Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship last April, the Korean tech giant is not slowing down. It is also poised to unleash its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 around the same period as Apple intends to release the iPhone 6? Who will win this time?

Following the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5, all eyes turned to the next best offering from Samsung. Aside from the Galaxy S5 Prime, the Galaxy Note 4 has also attracted its fair share of attention. According to a report by Android Geeks, an insider hinted about the release of Galaxy Note 4 on September 3. The Galaxy Note 3 came out last September 4 supporting the timeframe indicated.

Likewise, the insider also told Android Geeks that Samsung plans to send out invites for the Unpacked-even around mid-August. The report also pointed out that Samsung's main goal for quite some time now with its phablet series is to tap a specific consumer base and take away some of the market share from Apple's iPhone. This may soon be challenged as Apple has reportedly been working on a phablet version of the iPhone 6. Whether or not consumers will prefer the one over the other, a rundown of their reported specs should provide an insight on where both companies are with their upcoming devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Specs

The device is expected to run on quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor complete with 3GB RAM and 16MP ISOCELL sensor. The camera should also feature an Optimal Image Stabilization feature similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5. A Samsung executive also hinted about a new form factor to be included in the Galaxy Note 4 featuring a Youm-like screen that bends to the edges of the unit. Other reported features include a 5.7-inch Quad HD screen, 1440 x 2560 resolution and pixel density of 515ppi.

iPhone 6 Specs

PC Advisor reported about several images confirming the design of the iPhone 6. According to the report, the iPhone 6 under Foxconn measures around 138 by 67mm. There will also be two versions: 4.7-inch screen and 5.5-inch which may be extended up to 5.7. Forbes, on the other hand, reported about Apple's iPhone 6 design featuring liquidmetal and sapphire components following patent clearing. Sapphire promises to provide a more durable screen. Other reported features include iOS 8, 10MP camera plus f/.8 aperture and NFC payment system. It is not clear yet what the real resolution of the devices will be like especially since Apple has been reportedly working on making sure it can present apps just as fine with a bigger screen. This may mean sacrificing resolution for a more uniform and organized experience. A new A8 processor following the 64-bit architecture may also find its away to the new handset.

Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities predicted the iPhone 6 release to be around September similar to previous iPhone launches. Samsung and Apple have yet to release these devices to receive verdicts from the market.
