Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs. LG G3 - Early Specifications, Features, Release Date and Price Comparison

LG's 2014 flagship G3 has managed to catch the eyes of potential buyers across the globe with its killer specifications and under the hood performance. Meanwhile, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date is set between Sept. 5 and Sept. 10 in IFA 2014. Display and Exterior

The LG G3 features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD display, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will feature a relatively bigger 5.7 inches display. However, both the phones pack the same screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels (2K display). The LG G3 comes with 534 ppi pixel strength, while the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to come with 500+ ppi pixel density. Notably, the unique 2K screen resolution of both the devices guarantee extraordinary viewing experience for users and none of the other top-sellers boast this display.

When it comes to exterior, the LG G3's rear panel is made of plastic material, but the metal effect on the plastic body is convincing enough to give the much-appreciated metallic look. Meanwhile, similar to its predecessor Galaxy Note 3, the Note 4 is expected to feature the same faux leather exterior. According to The Korea Times, a senior official from a local supplier unit told the publication that Samsung is planning to release two models of Galaxy Note 4 with a curved OLED display and a regular/flat OLED display. Hardware, Software and Internal Storage

The LG G3 is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, along with 2 GB of RAM (if opted for 16 GB of storage) and a 3 GB of RAM (If opted for 32 GB of storage). The Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, has upped game by providing two sets of superior processor choices. The upcoming Note 4 with model number SM-N910S will reportedly be powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) Krait 450 processor and Adreno 420 GPU. And the model number SM-N910C will be powered by a killer octa-core (Samsung Exynos 5433) processor with ARM Mali-T760 GPU and 3 GB of RAM.

While the LG G3 runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will most likely run on Android 4.4.3 KitKat. However, the possibility of higher versions of Android cannot be ruled out.

Also, the LG G3 houses 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage with microSD slot for expansion up to 128 GB. The Note 4, on the other hand, will provide 32 GB of internal storage with the same microSD specification as the G3.

Camera and Battery

The LG G3 sports a 13 MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and a 2.1 MP front-facing camera unit, while the Note 4 will reportedly house a 12 MP primary camera and a 3.6 MP secondary camera unit. Also, optical image stabilization (OIS) is a note-worthy feature peculiar to both the phones. In addition, the Note 4 camera is expected to support 4K recording capabilities like the LG G3.

It is worth mentioning that, LG G3 is known for its killer 'camera software' specification. Some of the peculiar features of the G3 include 'Laser Autofocus Sensor' and 'Selfie' Mode. LG claims that the laser autofocus sensor functionality is very quick, as it takes only 0.276 seconds to focus. Additionally, the camera also features simultaneous video/image recording and voice activation.

In addition, the LG G3 houses a solid user-replaceable 3000 mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to come equipped with a relatively better 3600 mAh battery unit.

1. Even though, the LG G3 is not water resistant on paper, the handset can survive water accidents unbelievably.
