The killer Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has recently been unveiled at the IFA event scheduled in Berlin, whereas the powerful LG G3 was released in June. Moreover, the expected release date of the Galaxy Note 4 is slated for Q4 2014. Readers who are interested in purchasing the LG G3 or waiting for the release of the Galaxy Note 4 should check out this specification, features and price comparison.

Display, Exterior And Size

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, while the LG G3 comes with a 5.5-inch True HD IPS + LCD display. However, both the handsets share the same 2K screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. Also, the pixel densities of Samsung and LG devices stand at 515 ppi and 534 ppi respectively.

Apart from the perforated rear, the Galaxy Note 4 comes with a metallic frame surrounding the plastic corners of the handset, giving it the much-loved premium look than the predecessor Note 3. When it comes to screen details, the Samsung handset sports a razor sharp display and much-thinner bezels. In spite of housing superior Super AMOLED screen and 2K resolution, there is not much difference in the display when looked from a distance.

However, when the phone is positioned closer, users can see the superiority of Samsung's display in the form of no pixilation of any kind, says Phone Arena. The LG G3, on the other hand, comes with plastic exterior, but the metal effect on the plastic body is convincing enough to give the much-appreciated metallic look, says Tech Radar. Nevertheless, Android Central observed that the colours on Samsung's Super AMOLED screen looked intense when compared to the LG G3's IPS LCD display technology.

Speaking of size, the Galaxy Note 4 is 0.33-inch thick and weighs 176 g, whereas the thickness and the weight of LG G3 are 0.35-inch and 149 g respectively.

Hardware, Software And Memory

The Galaxy Note 4 is powered by a superior quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) Krait 450 processor, clocked at 2.7 GHz. The LG G3, meanwhile, is powered by a relatively inferior quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz. While the LG G3 is backed by a 2 GB of RAM (if opted for 16 GB of storage) and a 3 GB of RAM (if opted for 32 GB of storage), the Samsung handset comes with a solid 3 GB of RAM.

It is worth noting that, Samsung offers an additional processor choice based on the region of release i.e. octa-core (Exynos 5433) processor. However, there is no information available to ascertain when and where this model will be released. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note 4 runs on Android OS v4.4.4 KitKat along with TouchWiz UI on top of it, whereas the LG G3 runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS.

When it comes to memory, the Samsung smartphone offers 32 GB of in-built storage, while the LG device comes with 16 GB or 32 GB of storage space. However, both the devices support microSD card. While the Galaxy Note 4's expansion limit stands at 64 GB, the LG G3 can support up to 128 GB.

Camera And Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 sports a solid 16 MP ISOCELL rear-facing camera unit with LED flash, whereas the LG G3 houses a 13 MP primary unit with dual-LED (dual tone) flash. In addition, the LG G3 and the Galaxy Note 4 house 2.1 MP and 3.7 MP front-facing shooters respectively.

Both the devices come with the much-loved optical image stabilization (OIS), simultaneous video/image recording and 4K video recording capability. It is worth noting that, the G3 is known for its impressive camera software configuration. Some of the peculiar features of the G3 include 'Laser Autofocus Sensor' and 'Selfie Mode,' among others. LG claims that the laser autofocus sensor functionality is very quick, as it takes only 0.276 seconds to focus. Additionally, the camera supports voice activation.

Moreover, the Galaxy Note 4 houses a much-powerful Li-Ion 3220 mAh battery, whereas the LG G3 comes bundled with a relatively inferior Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery unit.
