The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 – which is attached to an unconfirmed release date at the moment – just might draw power from a homegrown Exynos 7422 processor. With speculations that this new chip will feature an integrated GPU and modem, it could turn out to be an improved version of the Exynos CPU that was found in the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

A screen shot of the upcoming phablet’s system info tab in CPU-Z was posted by an anonymous tipster on GSM Arena. The image may have confirmed the actual specifications that the Galaxy Note 5 will be sporting once it is launched – possibly sometime in mid-August, as speculated.

According to the tip, the device will feature 32 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM. However, it remains unclear whether or not the unit will have a slot for a microSD card. CNET has noted though that the flagship smartphones released earlier this year steered clear of removable storage features.

Rumor has it that screen-wise, it will follow the footsteps of its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4. The QHD display will reportedly measure 5.7 inches and sport a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution. Although there may be some similarities, considering the Korean tech giant’s history, it is expected that there will be an improved stylus and fresh, new touches to the software.

It has already been previously announced that Samsung will hold an Unpacked Event on Aug. 13. Avid Samsung tech users are expecting the company to shed more light on the Galaxy Note 5 during the said event, potentially alongside the Galaxy S6 Edge+. As of the moment, the device prototype in question is running on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop – which happens to be the latest update that Google has released to date.
