Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date & Specs Rumours: Upcoming Flagship Takes On UHD Display, Drops Quad HD
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumoured to come out with a 5.89-inch UHD screen display with 748 pixels per inch. Plus, its companion device, the Galaxy Note 4 Edge, will allegedly be launched with a smaller 5.78-inch UHD screen with 7.62 pixels per inch.
If these rumours pan out, then it looks like the Note 5 and the Note 5 Edge units will sport the best smartphone displays in the market, especially with the highest resolution that exist today. However, to date, there has been no confirmation regarding these reports.
Plus, the particular advantages that a UHD display may have over a Quad HD display still remain unclear. Although it may be true that more pixels may make the unit more enjoyable, it could also be equivalent to a much shorter battery life. Apart from that, the device might also be attached to a very high price – making it a less affordable unit.
To date, the rumour mill says that the Note 5 might be out by the end of this year. Phone Arena is convinced that once the latest flagship does finally come out, it will be featuring the highly awaited UHD screen.
To prove that such displays were being created, the Korean tech company confirmed during their Analyst Days presentation that they had already started working on the production of UHD displays, according to Uber Gizmo.
Unfortunately, they did not state which particular units they will be applying the new displays to. However, since the Galaxy S6 and the Note 5 are two of the brand’s more notable devices to be released this year, it is not surprising at all if they get the best screens that can be offered. That said, since the Galaxy S6 has already been released and it featured a QHD display, it can be assumed that the UHD screens will be going with the Note 5 units.
