Samsung Galaxy Note 6 preview: Top 6 specs and features to expect
After the launch of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones, Samsung is now expected to unveil the successor to its popular Galaxy Note 5. The South Korean tech giant is rumoured to be equipping the next line of Galaxy Note series of handsets with top-end specs and features.
The Galaxy Note 6 release date may fall sometime in August, just a year after its predecessor arrived in the market. Here’s a roundup of the expected specs and features of the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 6:
1 | Bigger display
The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will reportedly come packed with a more vibrant display than its predecessor. According to SamMobile, the phablet will likely to sport a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7-inch display screen.
2 | 6 GB of RAM
The Galaxy Note 6 could be the first ever smartphone to come with a humongous 6GB of RAM. It may also house different processors for different markets. Just like the newly launched Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, the Galaxy Note 6 may feature both Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 chipsets depending on the market it is sold in.
3 | MicroSD card slot and storage
The Note 6 may also come equipped with a microSD card slot, which is absent in the Galaxy Note 5. The Note 6 is speculated to come with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options.
4 | Pressure-sensitive display
If the rumours are to be believed, the Note 6 will feature a pressure-sensitive display with 1,024 pressure points. Both the Samsung Note 5 and the Galaxy Note 4 have 2,048 pressure points for the S Pen.
5 | S Pen with dual functionality
As spotted by Patently Mobile earlier this year, Samsung has filed a patent application for the S Pen with dual functionality. The US Patent & Trademark Office has published a patent application which indicates a design twist of the stylus pen. According to the patent, the S Pen can be bent mid-way and locked to be converted into a stand.
6 | Improved camera
An improved 12-megapixel camera with Super OIS (optical image stabilisation) system is expected to arrive on the Note 6. It is believed to come with a 20 percent improvement in camera stabilisation while capturing high resolution videos and pictures in low light conditions.
