Samsung Galaxy Note 6 on release date to kill rival phones with Snapdragon 823 SoC, 6 GB of RAM, 256 GB Storage
The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is currently under the wraps, but the rumour mill is suggesting that it may get unveiled in July or August this year. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are fueled by Snapdragon 820 SoC. Fresh speculations suggest that the Galaxy Note 6 will be coming with Snapdragon 823 SoC, an enhanced version of SD 820.
According to Phone Arena, the Snapdragon 823 can deliver processing speeds of up to 3 GHz. The Snapdragon 820 can produce a highest processing speed of up to 2.2 GHz. Also, the SD 823 can support up to 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. The enhanced chipset is expected to power other upcoming smartphones like LG G Flex 3 and an unnamed Sony Xperia flagship.
Previous rumours have suggested that the Galaxy Note 6 will be launched with 6 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 that was launched last year came with Exynos 7420 and 4 GB of RAM.
The South Korean tech giant is rumoured to have started the mass production of 6 GB RAM. Hence, the Galaxy Note 6 is heavily pegged to feature 6 GB RAM. The company has also mentioned in its press release that the new LPDDR4 RAM chips that are under production will be used in manufacturing smartphones that will feature 6 GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Note 6 is also expected to feature a maximum internal storage of 256 GB UFS 2.0. It supports a maximum reading speed of 850 MB/s and sequential writing speeds of 260 MB/s. The Note 6 is also expected to be available in other storage options like 64 GB and 128 GB.
Some of the other rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 6 include 5.8-inch Quad HD display, support for microSD card and improved S-Pen stylus. Since the final version of Android N is expected to roll out in July, the Galaxy Note 6 release date is also rumoured to happen in July this year.
