Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to have upgraded OLED Force Touch Panels after Galaxy S8’s initial adoption
If latest reports are to be believed, Samsung is developing display panels that are pressure sensitive for both Galaxy Note 8 and S8. It will be reportedly similar to Apple’s Force Touch that featured in iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are said to pack some of the best specs and features in the smartphone market today. The smartphones will have desktop connectivity, virtual assistant and a button-free front among a plethora of features. Earlier reports had mentioned that the handsets will have a virtual Home button. However, due to manufacturing issues on Synaptics’ part, the fingerprint sensor will be moved to the back. Samsung Display is currently working on OLED Force Touch Panels.
This technology will first be adopted by the S8 handsets and then by Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which will take matters to a completely new level. Thus, the Home button in the two devices will be pressure-sensitive. The in-house panels will be used for the devices. The company is separating home button navigation and fingerprint recognition, which many experts believe as a step back, writes Wccftech. Insider sources have claimed that Samsung has showcased its latest technology during MWC 2017 to a select few.
According to the Investor, the OLED Force Touch Panels will be highly sensitive and boast a wider range of pressure-sensing levels than previous technologies used in Huawei P9. Once the technology is incorporated in Galaxy S8, Samsung will better the technology further so that it can be incorporated in the Note 8. It will be Samsung’s first mobile device that will feature a complete pressure-sensitive touch screen. Moreover, it will be the first big major Galaxy Note 8 upgrade in two years.
The upcoming Note device is expected to be immensely successful as the Galaxy devices will fill the void created by the Note 7 disaster, as they are releasing first. The S8 and S8 Plus devices are rumoured to be revealed in seven different colour options. Moreover, the Note device is expected to be the most powerful device in the market when it hits stores in the latter half of this year. There are numerous rumours about the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Some feel it will be released along with the Galaxy S8 devices this month.
Traditionally the Note flagships are unveiled during the IFA trade show every year in early September. But for the past two years, the company has been unveiling its Note devices in August to get ahead of Apple.
