Samsung Galaxy Note Edge To Be Available Through US Cellular From Jan 7, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Will Also Be Limited Edition Device Like Note Edge
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is currently available through leading U.S. carriers like AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. From Jan. 7, the Note Edge will also be available through U.S. Cellular. According to Android Police, the Galaxy Note Edge will be available through a two-year contract deal through US Cellular with a price tag of $399. CNET says that with no upfront payment, users can opt for making monthly payments of $41 for a period of 20 months. The off-contract price of the device with US Cellular is $820.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with a curved edge display is a limited edition smartphone that was launched in September 2014. Rumours have it that Samsung is working on a dual-edged version of the Galaxy S6 flagship for this year. Like the Note Edge, even the dual-edged Galaxy S6 that is often referred to as Galaxy S6 Edge is also going to be a limited edition smartphone.
By citing Asian Economies, a South Korean source, G for Games states that the Galaxy S6 Edge will be the first smartphone ever to come with a double-curved display on the left and right sides of the device. It further states the Samsung will only sell 10 million units of Galaxy S6 in this year. The South Korean tech giant had adopted the same strategy for the Galaxy Note Edge in previous year. It is speculated that Samsung will sell 45 million S6 units in this year, out of which 10 million will be Galaxy S6 Edge units.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (SGS6 Edge) is speculated to be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset that will feature an octa-core processor or it may come with an Exynos 7 Octa processor. The chipset will be coupled by 3 GB of RAM. The exact size of the display is not known, but it is expected to house an S-AMOLED display that supports quad HD resolution. It may either feature a 16 MP or 20 MP rear camera, states PhoneArena.
PhoneArena adds that the Galaxy S6 as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge may get unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 expo that is expected to kickoff at the end of February. G for Games say that Samsung may unveil the SGS6 Edge during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 but only to selected partners.
