Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Now Officially Available For Pre-order In Japan
Samsung has released an official statement that the Galaxy Note Edge will be launched in Japan within this month. The premium phablet will be made available through Japan's popular cellular service providers KDDI and NTT DoCoMo, claims GSMArena. According to Slash Gear, the Charcoal Black Galaxy Note Edge will start selling from October 23, whereas the Frost White edition will arrive in November.
PC World states the Galaxy Note Edge preorders have already started in Japan. However, Samsung has not disclosed when the phablet will be made available to the countries of the world. The source adds that according to a spokesperson from Samsung, the Galaxy Note Edge will be launched in certain markets of the world by the end of 2014.
GSMArena states that some of the European countries have already started with the Galaxy Note Edge preorders. In the U.K., the Note Edge phablet is available at a preorder price of £650. In Germany, the handset is available on pre-order with a price tag of €999. Except for Japanese markets, Samsung has not confirmed official arrive of Galaxy Note Edge for any other countries of the world.
The Galaxy Note Edge was launched with other Samsung products like the Galaxy Note 4, Gear S smartwatch and Gear VR headset during the IFA event that was held in Berlin on September 3. Samsung proclaimed the commercial availability of Galaxy Note Edge during the Galaxy Note Edge World Tour 2014 that was held in Tokyo.
The Galaxy Note Edge that comes with a curved display screen allows user to quickly access alerts, most used apps and frequently used functionalities like camera. According to Samsung Tomorrow, users will be able to view alerts on the curved screen while watching a video. The premium phablet is equipped with Snapdragon 805 SoC, 3 GB RAM, 16 MP rear camera with OIS, 3.7 MP frontal camera, S-Pen stylus and 3,000 mAh battery.
PC World claims that it will not be easy for app makers to build apps that make use of the edge display without distracting the user. As it has been stated by Samsung before, that the Galaxy Note Edge will be a limited edition device with plans to produce only 1 million units for this year and it will only be made available in certain countries of the world.
