Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Shows Up At FCC, US Cellular And AT&T Models Found Listed
Samsung has been claiming consistently that the Galaxy Note Edge is a concept phone thath will be released in limited quantities across the globe. GSMArena has now revealed that the Galaxy Note Edge has finally reached the FCC regulatory body.
The Galaxy Note Edge with a model number SM-915A has been found listed with FCC. Android Headlines claims that the handset will be supporting LTE bands of AT&T and U.S. Cellular. GSMArena claims that the listing does not reveal when the carriers will be launching the Note Edge. The source speculates that the curved display phablet will arrive in the month of November.
The Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display screen that offers a display resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 pixels. The curved edge display is the most salient feature of the phablet. The edge display allows the user to view new alerts like missed calls, new messages and even other information like battery and signal strength.
The handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 805 quad-core CPU that clocks at 2.7 GHz along with Adreno 420 graphics and 3 GB RAM. It is equipped with the trademark S-Pen stylus.
The phablet will be available in two storage options, 32 GB and 64 GB. The handset also supports up to 64 GB of microSD on its external storage slot. The rear side of the handset features a 16 MP camera which is enabled with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It also features a 3.7 MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Note Edge is housed with a 3,000 mAh battery. It will come preloaded with Android v4.4.4 KitKat overlaid with Revolving UX UI from Samsung. Except for the unique display, smaller battery and CPU speed, the Galaxy Note Edge sports the same features that are present on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
GforGames claims that the arrival of SM-915A at the FCC does not mean the handset will arrive through AT&T and U.S. Cellular anytime soon, but the launch is imminent. GSMArena states that Galaxy Note Edge is currently available for preorders in countries like the U.K., Germany, Japan and China. We will have to wait more to hear more on the Galaxy Note Edge U.S. release date until Samsung's makes of an official statement.
