Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Speculated To Cost More Than $1100 In China
The high-end edition of Galaxy Note 4 called the Galaxy Note Edge that comes with a unique curved display screen on one of its edge is speculated to come out with a price tag of CNY 7000 in China that equates $1,139. PhoneArena claims that this information was revealed through a post by an employee from China Mobile with "Jack_Zhu Njie" on his Weibo account.
The Galaxy Note 3 was rolled out in China for $882 in 2013. At that time, popular carriers of China like China Telecom and China Unicorn had sold the Note 3 with a price tag of $944. PhoneArena states that it if the Galaxy Note Edge is priced at $1,139, Chinese carriers would sell the new phablet variant at even higher price.
The post published by "Jack_Zhu Njie" is no longer accessible and it was replaced by another post that claims that Galaxy Note 4 will be release in China on Sept 26. The Galaxy Note 4 is supposed to be officially released by Samsung in the mid October and the Note Edge is expected to come out after the Note 4 arrives.
The Galaxy Note Edge's impressive never-before-seen curved display works like a status bar that can show up information like alerts, battery strength, network bars and so on even when the other larger part of the display remains off. As of now, Galaxy Note Edge release date has not been announced officially by Samsung.
On the other side, the Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders are slated to start from Sept 18 in South Korea. It is expected to get released in the home country on Sept 26. Even U.K. retailer, Clove, has made the Galaxy Note 4 available for pre-orders.
According to GSMArena, the Note 4 will be available in two variants with China Mobile in China. The N9100 model which will not support 4G connectivity is going to be priced $878. The N9108 which supports 4G connectivity will be available at a price tag of $846.
PhoneArena claims that an analyst from Hyundai Securities has revealed that the South Korean giant will be manufacturing only 1 million Note Edge handsets for this year. The source states that the reason behind producing fewer units is that it is not easy to build a smartphone with a curved display.
