The most recent that is running on the Galaxy Note II is Android v4.4.4 KitKat. According to Google Support page, an Android tablet or smartphone can receive the latest edition of Android OS only if the update arrives within the period of 18 months of the release date of the device. Since the Galaxy Note II arrived in 2012, it does not seem that the Note II will receive the Android Lollipop update soon. However, one thing is confirmed that it will receive all the features of the Galaxy Note 4 thanks to the arrival of new custom ROM from Android developers.

The Galaxy Note 4 is dubbed as the best ever phablet from Samsung and comes with high-end specs and amazing software features. According to SamMobile, if you are still using the Galaxy Note II, you can install the new custom ROM and avail all the features that are available on the Note 4. The custom ROM is based on Android v4.4.2 KitKat.

PhoneArena has revealed that the team that has made the new ROM available for Note II users is called Electron Team. All the Galaxy Note 4 features Ultra Power Saving Mode, Air Commands, Scrapbook, Flipboard and many other features are expected to come along with the new ROM. Even other apps like Dialer and Messaging will appear as they are on the Galaxy Note 4. The entire list of Galaxy Note 4 features that are going to come to the Note 2 is listed with XDA Developers.

In order to get all the Note 4 features on your Note II, you will have to flash the device. This may end up messing up your device. Hence, it is important to backup your phablet' data to be on the safe side before you flash the device. According to PhoneArena, you will have to perform rooting on your Note II and then flash a new bootloader. If you are not sure on how to perform, it is better to seek advice from a friend who knows how to perform the installation of custom ROMs.
