Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 thanks to the developers of a new Paranoid Android custom ROM. It features all vanilla capabilities of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based on the Android Open Source Project.

Requirements:

1. Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 phablet which has been rooted and with a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod Recovery installed.

2. Create a manual backup of all data files stored on the device.

3. Make sure that the battery level is at least 80 per cent to prevent power interruption during installation.

4. Enable USB Debugging mode on the phablet located in the Settings menu.

5. Download and install the USB Drivers on the computer for the device.

6. Download the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 custom ROM and the Google Apps zip files on the computer.

Warning: We are not responsible for any issues which may occur on the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. Read and follow the instructions carefully to prevent damaging the device. Do this at your own risk.

Flashing Instructions:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 to the computer using a USB cable.
  2. Copy and paste the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 custom ROM and Google Apps zip files to the SD card of the device. Do not extract the zip files.
  3. Disconnect the device from the computer and turn it off.
  4. Reboot into Recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up, Home and Power keys at the same time.
  5. Inside the Recovery mode, create a nAndroid backup of the current ROM by selecting “backup and restore > backup.” A saved file will be stored on the SD which can be used by selecting the “restore” option.
  6. Perform a full wipe on the device by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” and “wipe cache partition” then select “advanced > wipe Dalvik cache.”
  7. Install the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 custom ROM by selecting “install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > select the zip file copied earlier and then confirm the installation.” Apply the same method with the Google Apps zip file.
  8. After the installation has been completed, go back to the main menu and select “reboot system now.”

The Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 will reboot automatically and may reach the home screen after five minutes for its first time to run the new firmware.
