Samsung Galaxy Note Pro and Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2: Key Features and Why Choose Pro Over iPad Air
Samsung released the largest Samsung Galaxy Tab, finally, during the CES 2014. Despite the size options of the product line, Samsung assures users that it can address their professional needs just as efficiently. Among the products introduced, Samsung's Tab Pro 12.2 became the center of attention. It did not just dwarf other similar products but some analysts agree it has some impressive features. Can the Tab Pro 12.2 take over Apple's iPad Air?
Apple's iPad Air remains superior against other tablets, but it seems Samsung will not allow that to happen for long. The long standing rivalry of the two tech giants continue with Samsung's Galaxy Tab 12.2. The device features a WQXGA LCD with a 2, x 1,600 resolution. Contrary to what majority of the market thought, the dimensions were not as out of this world as they first seem. They may seem ridiculous at first, but Samsung managed to fit the parts together just fine.
Users will appreciate the screen more once they go into Multi-Window mode. The foot-long display is most useful when opening applications like YouTube, Spreadsheet, Google Docs and Chrome at the same time. People will find it easier to work with their applications because there is enough space to accommodate many at once.
Viewing the applications simultaneously will never be the same for smaller displays like 10.1- and 8.4-inch screens. The 12.2-inch screen provides an excellent viewing experience. People can also change the sizes of the windows with just a few simple manoeuvers.
The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 caters to business professionals, but it has a user-friendly TouchWiz interface. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with widgets similar to the grid style of Flipboard. The screen size allows user to see the boxed widgets better. There are no cramped or visibility issues compared to smaller-sized tablets.
Some sources agree though that Samsung could have done better than the usual TouchWiz interface. Some analysts pointed out that the company needed to think of a way to revolutionise not just screen sizes but also the overall functionality of the interface and its integration with the OS. Some say it would have been nice to see the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 do more than the standard TouchWiz features.
Other specs remain impressive. The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 features an Exynos 5 Octa for 3G and Wi-Fi models. The chip packs on a combination of quadcore processor of 1.9 and 1.3 GHz. For people who want faster connectivity, there is a Samsung 800 2.3 GHz quadcore processor configuration. This might not be as impressive as other offerings on the market but it still delivers.
