Samsung Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Nowhere in Sight; 4.2.2 Version Still Delayed
Samsung Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update is not getting any closer and 4.2.2 version roll out still delayed leaving users quite disappointed.
It has been six months since the 4.2 version of Jelly Bean to Samsung Galaxy S3 but the next version of the mobile software has not been released yet. Thus, more Galaxy S3 users are left out on the perks and features that the latest Jelly Bean version provides.
Samsung-centric Web site SamMobile previously reported that Samsung Galaxy S3 is bound to receive the 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean. However, the release date has not been confirmed yet by the South Korean tech company.
Other reports claimed that Samsung will skip the roll out of 4.2.2 version to give way to the latest 4.3 Android mobile software.
This is seconded by a spokesperson from Samsung U.K. said that the company "will confirm upgrade plans to Android 4.3 to selected Galaxy devices in the coming months." Although some publications claimed that November is the possible window for the release date.
However, reports claimed that older Samsung devices may not be getting any updates. This has been proved by Australian carrier Telstra which withdraw that Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 from the list of devices that will receive 4.2.2 version of Android OS.
Samsung Galaxy S3 users are blaming the slow sales of the handset's predecessor, Galaxy S4, for the constant delays in the roll out of updates. It is said that GS4 are not selling like GS3.
However, GS3 users itching to get their hands on the later versions of Jelly Bean update may still install the OS via Custom ROM and other unofficial, root-based update from developers. Everyone is advised to proceed with caution when updating their devices via Custom ROM and better wait for the official OTA update of your device.
