Aussies will finally get their hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S3 as its launch event will be held in Sydney today.

Korea-based mobile giant Samsung will be launching its greatest phone to date in Australia. Vodafone will be holding a live stream of the event that will happen 9:50 this morning.

Samsung said that Vodafone received large numbers of pre-orders for the device that surpassed other Android-based smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S3 received rave reviews from critics and reviewers for its specs and features. It is speculated that the Galaxy S3 can trample against its main competitors - HTC One XL and iPhone 5.

Reviewers praise the new Samsung Galaxy S3 for its fast Android latest OS - Ice Cream Sandwich. The processor is incredibly high speed and is further intensified by its 1.4 Ghz quad-core Exynos processor.

The device can store 1080p movies and can even play them in a pop-up window while you are busy surfing the web. The device is perfect for those who love to multitask. The device will not disappoint you with its longer battery life that will allow you to enjoy the whole movie and other things that you are doing in your phone.

While Apple still sticks to its prehistoric 3.5 inch screen, the Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8-inch screen that also features more computing power that supports voice commands and an eye-movement tracking feature to keep the screen from dimming.

Consumers from Europe and Middle East Stores will be the first to try out the music streaming service of the Galaxy S3 - Music Hub, which is an iTunes-like service that allows users to listen, buy and store tracks. Samsung said that the new service has 19 million songs in boot and it is still updating for newly-released tracks.

This new service is available in free and paid versions depending on the preference of the user. According to Samsung, the paid service allows uploading and storage of music files on servers that can be accessed from more than one Internet-connected device.

Samsung's Galaxy Series is a success for the Korea-based company and is a direct competitor of Apple's iPhone. The Korean firm is further innovating its devices and said that it is working on its own messaging application similar to BlackBerry Messaging system hoping that this will increase the loyalty of consumers.

Samsung launched the device in 28 countries. The device is already for sale in UK and Middle East as it hit the stores last Tuesday hoping to maintain its lead against rival Apple's iPhone 5, which is predicted to be released in October. In July, more than 300 operators and retail stores will be stocking their shelves with Samsung Galaxy S3.

Australia is one of the key markets for Samsung.
