Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat in Early Stages Confirmed by Customer Service Representative
Samsung UK revealed the extended privilege of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 on receiving Android 4.4 KitKat update after 4.3 firmware version. Moreover, the source hints out that Samsung begins early stages of development for KitKat OS.

Smartphones of 2012 are having trouble getting Android 4.2 and 4.3 which happened to both Galaxy S3 and Note 2. Fortunately, a revelation from Samsung UK confirms the possibility of extending update support with Android 4.4 KitKat.
An XDA developer forum member is concerned regarding the region-locking SIM strategy of Samsung and wanted to know how the process works. Gladly, a Samsung UK customer service representative explained that the feature and would become a part to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.4 KitKat.
Region lock is designed to prevent consumers from purchasing a Samsung device in one part of the world then use a SIM card from another location which happened on Galaxy Note 3 recently.
Although stated by a customer service representative, it remains unofficial but the mere fact of telling Android 4.4 KitKat for both devices mean a lot for owners worldwide.
As of now, owners of both Galaxy S3 and Note 2 are expected to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware between the months of October and November 2013.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update for Galaxy S3 and Note 2
Samsung already confirmed the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update and it features several changes and addition for both Galaxy S3 and Note 2. Samsung skipped Android 4.2.2 firmware to save time and effort dealing with TouchWiz UI integration.
