Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 finally get a detailed announcement of changes and features owners should expect before the end of 2013. Aside from Bluetooth Low Energy, the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 are confirmed to get Galaxy Gear support, too.

Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2

Previously, Samsung confirmed the upcoming official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 after a series of conflicts with the TouchWiz UI integration. Rumours followed with the Galaxy Gear support coming to the new firmware in addition to the Bluetooth Low Energy feature.

Just recently, two variants of the Galaxy S4 received Android 4.3 firmware featuring several improvements and changes. The firmware is currently being rolled out by Samsung. This time, the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 got the much deserved attention, as the company revealed what owners can expect from the next major Android upgrade.

Included in the update are the following:

3. OpenGL ES 3.0 Support

4. Samsung Knox Security Suite

5. Smart Switch for transferring contents from other smartphones to Samsung devices

11. More security patches, bug fixes and stability enhancements

Android 4.3 Push Update Schedule

Samsung begins roll-out of Android 4.3 Jelly bean firmware for two variants of the Galaxy S4 smartphones, and according to Gotta Be Mobile , Samsung admitted release plans on Nov 11, 2013, as the Australian network carrier Telstra claimed the scheduled date for the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 official update.

Owners of the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 can obtain their updates via FOTA or Firmware Over-the-Air procedure through a stable Wi-Fi connection or from Samsung Kies PC Suite installed on a computer. It is expected that the firmware has a big size which may require owners to free some space before installing the new software.

It is unknown if both devices are going to receive Android 4.4 KitKat from Samsung in 2014, but owners can get segmented parts of the firmware via the Google Play Store by upgrading applications and services.
