Samsung Galaxy S3 is finally receiving an official Android 4.3 update but the Galaxy Note 2 new firmware remains nowhere to be found. Instead, Google revealed Android 4.4 KitKat which is rumoured to be designed for all.

After months of waiting, Galaxy S3 owners can now expect the upcoming Android 4.3 firmware update. Samsung confirmed that in October 2013, Galaxy S3 smartphone is going to receive its next official update, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, according to SamMobile.

The confirmation was received by SamMobile after the announcement of the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 will be pushed after a month or two depending on the territory and network carrier as software upgrades are released in phases.

Android 4.4 KitKat OS Should Arrive on Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2

Both Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 boast premium hardware components which actually run the current Android version 4.3 and the early Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Google seems to be planning to add the optimisation of Android OS in the upcoming KitKat version expected in October 2013.

According to KitKat Web site, Android 4.4 offers several changes which would make Android for all - does this mean older and lower devices can run it?

Owners of Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 should not be quick on deciding for an instant device upgrade for it still uncertain of Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 is within reach. TouchWiz is the rumoured crisis on Android 4.3 upgrade and Galaxy S3 is getting it soon while Google's preparation for KitKat may solve all the software upgrade cravings for 2013.

3. The firmware should be faster since Google will make Android 4.4 lighter.

7. More accessories should be supported.

8. Display quality should get some improvements.

9. More juice on the battery.
