Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 to Receive 4.3 Jelly Bean Update in October, Says Samsung
Samsung Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 are scheduled to receive the 4.3 Jelly Bean update in October, according to Samsung.
The South Korean tech giant slipped some good news during the Unpacked event hinting that S3 and S4 users will receive the 4.3 version of Jelly Bean OS very soon.
It is expected that Samsung Galaxy S4 is bound to receive the latest version Jelly Bean. However, it comes as a surprise that the OS will also arrive to the Galaxy S3. No more details were provided by the company.
It is still unconfirmed whether the October roll out of the update will be sent to the carriers or it is the Over-The-Air update.
IBTimes AU reported earlier that Samsung Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update may not arrive soon and the 4.2.2 version roll out is still delayed leaving users quite disappointed.
Samsung Galaxy S3 received the 4.2 Jelly Bean update six months ago but the next version of the mobile software has not been released yet. Therefore, more Galaxy S3 users are still waiting in vain while Nexus smartphone users are already enjoying the perks and features of the new version of Jelly Bean OS.
Some reports claimed that Samsung will skip the release of 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update and jump directly to the 4.3 version of the Android mobile software.
"Will confirm upgrade plans to Android 4.3 to selected Galaxy devices in the coming months," said by the spokesperson of Samsung U.K.
We will reveal more information on the roll out 4.3 version of Jelly Bean once we hear more from Samsung.
The roll out of the latest Android update is constantly delayed. However, GS3 and GS4 users who want to get their hands on the later versions of Jelly Bean update may still install the latest OS via Custom ROM and other unofficial, root-based update from developers.
Everyone is advised to proceed with caution when updating their devices via Custom ROM and better wait for the official OTA update of your device.
