A leaked Android 4.2.2 firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S3 can now be installed to enjoy exclusive Galaxy S4 features such as new lock screen, revamped UI, enhanced S Voice and more on your current S3 phone.

SamMobile got their hands on the I9300XXUFME7 software version of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean designed for Galaxy S3 containing several changes and adaptation of S4 environment. The firmware is still in early stages but reported to be working normally on Galaxy S3.

SamMobile noted that the firmware acts exactly like any official firmware and does not increase the binary counter or changes the system state.

Requirements

1. Create a backup of all your data files and personal settings on your phone.

2. Make sure that the battery level is at least 50 per cent.

3. Enable USB debugging on your device.

4. Download the I9300XXUFME7_I9300OXAFME7_OXA.zip firmware package to your computer.

Flashing Instructions

1. Unzip the firmware package zip file on your computer.

2. Launch the Odin 3.04 included in the firmware package.

3. Turn off your Galaxy S3 and reboot it into download mode: Press and hold the Home + Power + Volume down keys.

4. Connect the handset to your computer using a USB cable.

5. Wait till the blue light shows on the Odin tool. If Odin did not detect your device, install the necessary drivers to your computer.

6. Now add the I9300XXUFME7_I9300OXAFME7_I9300XXUFME7_HOME.tar.md5 to PDA section of the Odin tool.

7. Re-partition MUST not be ticked.

8. Press "Start" and wait for the process to be completed.

9. If the device suffers from boot loop errors or got stuck, remove its battery and restart it into Recovery mode - Press and hold the Home + Power + Volume up keys.

10. Inside the Recovery mode, select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition." These processes will erase all data on the device.

11. Reboot your Galaxy S3.

Congratulations! Your Samsung Galaxy S3 is now running the Galaxy S4 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware version with all the exclusive features found in the latest flagship of Samsung.
