Samsung Galaxy S3 Insults iPhone 5 (Again) in Facebook and YouTube Ads [PHOTOS and VIDEO]
Samsung is taking the smartphone battle too seriously and acts ill-tempered by mocking Apple's new iPhone 5
In the past weeks, The South Korean company released a series of Facebook and YouTube ads amidst the hype around iPhone 5. Samsung took a stab on Apple in its most recent YouTube video (below) showing a long queue for a newly-released phone similar to what happens when the new iPhone is out.
Samsung claimed that "the next big thing is already here" referring to the Galaxy S3. The company boasts some of its amazing features such as a lot bigger screen, 4G/LTE connectivity, NFC through S Beam.
Before the release, Samsung also released a string of commercial videos highlighting the features of the device.
Earlier this week, some of the Facebook ads of the company became viral due to its direct attack and comparison with the new iPhone 5. The new ad campaign of the company garnered different comments from the public.
"This is a marketing campaign. It's not a legal campaign," said Teri Daley, a Samsung representative. "As marketers we're focused on educating consumers. We feel like they've somewhat been led down a blind path when truly that innovation has stopped a long time ago."
The new ads were prompted by the release of the new iPhone last week. Samsung's chief marketing officer Todd Pendleton said the "It doesn't take a genius" ad was not meant to insult iPhone owners.
"Apple users or fanboys, or whatever you call them, they're not the target of this work at all," he said. "If you look at the core essence of the work, it really is showing an innovation story. A more innovative product in this case is the GS III," Pendleton said.
On the other hand, the Cupertino-based company has not fired back at its rival and is prepping up for the release of its new smartphone on September 21 in Apple stores.
