A Samsung exec confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 will have all of the amazing features of the new Galaxy S4 through the upcoming Androidv4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update.

Samsung VP of Product Planning Nick DiCarlo has been kind enough to make all things clear by saying that all the cool new features will be available for all the flagship smartphones, as long as the functions do not depend on the hardware sported only by the Galaxy S4.

Nick DiCarlo spoke to PCMag and promised that the S3 and other phones and tablets will get new software features announced on the S4 last week. "Anything that we can do that's not dependent on hardware like infrared we'll definitely bring to all the flagship devices," says Samsung.

Samsung boss Nick DiCarlo highlights the camera interface and WatchNow TV remote. While the camera interface doesn't rely on hardware only found in the S4, and should therefore trickle down to other devices, the remote control uses the S4's built-in infrared blaster and so can't come to the S3.

New features on the S4 that could translate to the S3 include real-time lingo-decoder S Translator, and an array of pointless camera features, such as Dual Camera pictures.

Some features look like they could make the switch but might rely on hardware in the S4's camera. I'm talking about the various hands-off features that let you control the phone without touching the screen, as the camera detects your hand waving in front of the screen to scroll and swipe, your eyes straying from the display to pause a video with Smart Stay, and your hand tilting the phone to Smart Scroll.

However, if you want the Air View feature on the Samsung Galaxy S3, you may end up disappointed. Also, there chances are small for you to receive applications like the TV remote and the S Health because they require an Infra Red port and a pedometer in order for them to work.

Moreover, the owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should be pretty excited as well because since the phablet is a high-end device, it will most likely receive the features via the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S4 wowed fans and critics on its launch event last week in New York. The device is equipped with Super AMOLED HD screen display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution at 441 pixels per inch trumps the iPhone 5's 1136x640 Retina display. The S4 has 2GB of RAM and will be available in 16, 32 and 64 GB models, with a Micro SD slot capable of housing up to 64GB extra storage space.

The new smartphone from Samsung will be available in Telstra, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile and will work on the 3G and high-speed 4G LTE mobile networks in Australia.

The S4 will run on the latest version of Google's Android operating system (4.2.2 Jelly Bean) and be powered by Samsung's new Exynos 5 Octa processor. However, the device will run on Qualcomm's quad-core chip in the US. The phone features an upgraded 2600 mAh battery, compared to the 2100 mAh batter of the Galaxy S3.
