Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 prices started to lower as new release date rumours on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 emerged.

New rumours claimed that Samsung's phablet is set to be released next month. The heightened anticipation caused the price of the devices to go down.

Verizon Wireless in the US has just dropped the price of the Galaxy Note 2 by $100, and the handset is now available for $199.99 when you sign up to a new contract, other retailers in the UK have also dropped the price of the device.

Since early this year, the price of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 started dropping due to the release of new smartphones from Samsung such as the Galaxy S4.

IBTimes AU reported last March that the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 is selling for $99.99, a $200 price cut off the usual $299 contract price on a two-year carrier agreement. Please, note that the discounted price only applies to new Sprint customers, upgraders would have to shell out $199.99 for the device.

The AT&T Galaxy Note 2 is available at Amazon Wireless for $239.99. This price applies to both new customers and upgraders. These prices apply to the base 16 GB version, and are all discounted off the price one would pay if purchased directly through the carrier, so if you want to save on the Galaxy Note 2, Amazon Wireless would be the place to visit, not the carriers' websites.

Samsung Galaxy S3 price also significantly dropped and is now available for as low as $10. Samsung Galaxy S4 prices range from $99 with monthly payments to $249 with a two-year contract, and we may see more variations as the Verizon and Sprint Galaxy S4 release details emerge.

Nearly all the major U.S. Carriers are offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for a lower price now that the Galaxy S4 is almost here. The only holdout is Verizon. Without digging deeper Verizon customers would have no clue that the carrier is planning a Verizon Galaxy S4 release. With no Galaxy S4 landing page or pre-order details, Verizon is keeping the Galaxy S3 price firm at $199 with a two-year contract, but savvy shoppers can get a better deal.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 is now $99 on a two-year contract, and the off contract price is even lower at just $449. Sprint is offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for $99 to new customers. T-Mobile which is now offering payment plans for phones dropped the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to $69 up front, with $20 monthly payments. Amazon is also selling Samsung Galaxy S3 at friendly prices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to make its debut in the third quarter of this year. Rumours point to possible September release date. There are speculations that Samsung will hold the announcement of the Note 3 on the annual IFA event in Berlin. The said launch will allow Samsung to maximize its profits and to complete the tried-and-tested September product cycle of the Galaxy Note series.

It is initially speculated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would make its grand debut at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week in its keynote. The rumours are fuelled by the significant price drop of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 at some resellers early this month.

Some of the rumoured specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are: 6.3-inch Full HD screen display; unbreakable, flexible screen; 8-core Exynos 5 Octa processor chip; stylus And finger hovering feature; Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS; 16 megapixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash and BSI and 3 megapixel front camera with 'Best Photo,' 'Best Faces,' low light show and BSI; 32, 64 and 128 GB internal memory options expandable storage via microSD cards; 4,000 mAh Li-on battery.

However, Samsung's spokesperson said that the company does not comment on rumours.
