Sprint and U.S. Cellular Releases 'Safe' Android 4.3 Firmware

United States network carriers Sprint and U.S. Cellular begin update rollout today after recent release from AT&T to its Galaxy S3 subscribers of the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware despite the horrible experience of owners in the United Kingdom who suffered several issues from the new firmware.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware for the United States Galaxy S3 get the following new features:

- Bluetooth Smart support enabled

- OpenGL ES 3.0 for high performance 3D graphics power

- Samsung Galaxy Gear accessory compatibility

- Samsung Knox security suite included

- Premium Suite now added:

- Group Play 2.5

- Multi-window feature of Galaxy S4

- Sound & Shot camera feature

- Group Messaging

- Samsung Link

- Contextual page for apps and widgets suggestions

- Samsung Gallery app updated

- My Files apps similar with Galaxy Note

- Smart Switch added

- Paper Artist camera feature

However, not all of the mentioned features may be included to each and every network carrier due to modifications. Depending on the network, some features may have been added earlier than Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Sprint's Android 4.3 firmware version is "L710VPMJ9," while U.S. Cellular subscribers will get "R530UVXUBMJA."

You may update the Spring Galaxy S3 using the Software Updater inside the Settings to get the new firmware via FOTA and Samsung Simple Upgrade tool using the computer for U.S. Cellular subscribers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Firmware

Sprint finally pushes out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy Note 2 owners and it includes new OS platform features such as Bluetooth Smart and OpenGL ES 3.0 with Galaxy Gear and Samsung Knox Security support.

Other improvements include HD Voice enhancements, overall UI revamp and more fix patches for the system.

Subscribers from other network carriers with Galaxy Note 2 are soon to push their own release date rollout within December 2013 as scheduled.
